WHAT WE LOVE TO DO

“We sing our songs and tell our stories in a manner that pleases our Ancestors. We lift up the spirits of those who join us in our magical, mystical journey.”
(Shannon Thunderbird)

Indigenous stories, knowledge, music and rhythm can bridge the cultural divide in a way that allows for the culture and magic of all Turtle Island’s people to be celebrated and understood in a positive, uplifting and often humorous way.

Our stories are TRUTH, HONOUR, RESPECT, HOPE, WISDOM, JOY, CARING, COURAGE, LOVE, HUMOUR….AND…RECONNECTIONS to the vital rhythms and currents of global people.

We invite you to Listen, Understand, Engage, Feel and Care about Yourself, Family, Friends, Community, Nation and, most importantly, Mother Earth.

CEDAR SISTERS VOCAL/DRUMMING TRIO

Cedar Sisters are based in Ontario. Singers: Shannon Thunderbird, Kate Dickson (Ts’msyen), Sandy Horne (Spoons). The music starts with rhythmic drums, the songs pulse with energy and infectious joy. They seep into your heart and audiences can’t help but join in. The memory of a great experience resonates long after the music stops.
