DESCRIPTION OF SHOW – Revised to include Covid 19 protocols.

  1. Opening Song, Mahk Jchi. Introduction of Artists.
  2. Introduction to Tribal Life and the assignment of Clans.
  3. We are the original Environmentalists living in harmony with everything below, upon and above Mother Earth.
  4. Laughter ensues at the antics of Raven as he lights up the world.
  5. Story: Sky Woman and Turtle Island.
  6. Replica clothing including a ka-pawt (hooded coat) from 1776 will be explained.
  7. Big Drums represent the heartbeat of Mother Earth. Note: The number of people playing the drums at any given time is limited. Dancing is only an option if permitted by the school.
  8. Call and Response songs with themes that include: anti-bullying, sharing, caring, respect, trust, truth, self-esteem, wise leadership, good hearts.
  9. An Indigenous perspective of social media.
  10. Grades 6-8: Residential schools, Indian Act. The recent discovery of the bones of our children in a variety of residential schools across Canada has changed national thinking. Let’s talk. Song: “Lost and Found”.

SPACE & PROP REQUIREMENTS: (a) Gym or space large enough to accommodate social distance dancing. (b) 2 Long Tables, (c) 10 chairs for the big drums.

AUDIENCE MAXIMUM FOR BOTH IN-SCHOOL & VIRTUAL: 125. The number of masked students must include physical distancing.

PRESENTATION LENGTH: 75 minutes.

SHOW FEE: GTA: $800.00 + HST (2 Performers). There is a special fee for two or three shows booked on the same day in the same school.

OUTSIDE GTA: Show fee does NOT include where applicable: travel, per diem, accommodation.

NOTE: Special Presentation fee for Tours of 8-10 shows in a week (2 shows per day within reasonable driving distance)
